Meet Kristen
Your Virtual Therapist In Michigan
Hi, I'm Kristen, and I'm so thankful you're here! Deciding to seek therapy is a big step, and I want you to know that this space is meant for you—your story, your struggles, and your strengths.
My goal is to make this process as welcoming and comfortable as possible so that you can feel safe to be your authentic self. Whether you're dealing with the challenges of ADHD issues, relationships that feel unfulfilling, or searching for a deeper sense of purpose and self-understanding, I’m here to walk with you on your journey.
Life can feel overwhelming, especially when you have struggles that seem to take over every aspect of your day. And if you’ve experienced trauma—whether it’s the loud voice of PTSD or the quieter one of “little t” traumas—you might be looking for a way to heal that feels truly attuned to your needs.
It’s common to feel misunderstood, unheard, or even unseen by those closest to you.
For many, chronic health issues or a lingering sense of purposelessness can add another layer of difficulty. I’ve worked with a wide range of people across the lifespan as a palliative care social worker, including those coping with chronic illness. I see how these unique experiences shape who you are and influence how you move through the world.
Perhaps cultural expectations weigh heavily on you, or you're struggling with boundaries and attachment in your relationships. As a first-generation American and the child of immigrants, I deeply understand the complexities that come with cultural issues and the sense of not quite fitting in.
My approach is to honor your story, validate your struggles, and celebrate the strengths that have carried you this far.
What Therapy In Michigan With Me Looks Like
Therapy with me is a collaborative, compassionate, and personalized process. From the moment we start working together, my priority is to create a space where you feel truly seen and heard. I believe that effective therapy goes beyond just talking. Together, we will go deeper to understand the root causes of your struggles and find practical strategies to help you flourish.
I use a variety of therapy approaches, like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). Beyond these evidence-based techniques, I bring a focus on mindfulness and body awareness, helping you to connect with yourself on a deeper level.
My goal is to guide you in gaining insight and self-understanding, healing old wounds, and building a toolkit of skills that you can use in your everyday life.
What sets my practice apart is my commitment to highlighting the strengths within your struggles. I’ll help you reframe the coping mechanisms you developed in childhood to survive, not just as things of past trauma but as superpowers that now create empathy and compassion.
In any way I can, I aim to shed light on the resilience and growth that came from your most challenging experiences.
“The greatest gift you can give someone is the space to be his or her authentic self”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson
“You’re allowed to be a masterpiece and a work in progress, simultaneously.“
-Sophia Bush
What’s Your Therapist like, Inside and Outside Therapy Sessions
I’m approachable, easy to talk to, and genuinely invested in helping you feel comfortable enough to be yourself.
You’ll find that I’m down-to-earth, and I believe in bringing a sense of humanity and warmth into our work together. You might even meet my dogs (or hear them occasionally during our virtual sessions)—they're an important part of my world, just as your loved ones and passions are part of yours.
I understand that not everyone finds comfort in the same things, especially around the holidays, but for me, they’re a time of joy.
I adore Halloween, and fall is my favorite season—there’s something so grounding about the changing leaves and the crisp air. Fall is the season that teaches us change is beautiful. I love decorating and dressing up (I have a soft spot for gnomes and you might find them all over my home!).
I’m passionate about organization and might be a little intense about labeling everything—it's a reflection of my love for order and creating spaces that feel right. This enthusiasm extends into my therapeutic approach, where I aim to help you find order and clarity amidst the chaos of life.
Why Flourish?
“When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.”
-Alexander Den Heijer
Gardening is a passion of mine, and it’s deeply symbolic of what I hope for my clients. Just like in a garden, flourishing in life requires the right conditions, care, and sometimes a bit of pruning to let the best parts thrive. I chose the name “Flourish” for my practice because it embodies the growth, healing, and transformation I believe everyone is capable of.
My role is to support you in finding the right environment and tools to help you grow into your fullest self.
Lets Flourish Together
I truly believe that therapy is a space where you can plant the seeds of change and turn them into something beautiful.
If you’re ready to start on this journey, I’m here to support you.
